Over consumption of salt causes puffy eyes because salt is a sodium due to which bloating and fluid retention can be increases.

5)      Sinus:

1)      Avoid alcohol:


Try to limit or avoid alcohol and other drinks that can make you dehydrated. Dehydration can result in puffy eyes, so have a glass of water instead.
If you’re tired of plain water, infusing it with fresh fruit is a great way to stay hydrated and refreshed.

2)      Pass on the salt:


Eating too much salt can cause additional fluid retention in your body. It can also lead to other health problems, like a greater risk of heart problems and stroke. To reduce your salt intake, steer clear of cured meats, cheese, pickles, and other processed foods. Pre-packaged foods like instant soups are often high in sodium. Reading labels can help you identify excessive amounts of salt.

3)      Eat more potassium:

Potassium can help reduce excess fluids in your body, so you may want to ramp up your potassium intake. You can do this by adding bananas, beans, yogurt, and leafy greens to your diet. If you’re already eating a potassium-rich diet, talk to your doctor about whether your potassium level is fine as is or if you can safely add a daily potassium supplement to your routine.

4)      Get enough sleep:


Logging a good night’s sleep regularly will help you reduce your puffy eyes. Adults need around 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night. To ensure you’re sleeping enough, create a bedtime routine and stick to it.

It’s important to remember that your bedtime routine actually starts long       before you lay down to sleep.

5)      Drink enough water:


Eye puffiness can be the result of dehydration. Make sure you drink plenty of water every day to keep your skin healthy. The general rule of thumb is to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily.

To stay on track, consider setting an hourly reminder on your phone. You can also use a refillable water bottle marked with specific times to help you drink enough water throughout the day.

6)      Use a cool compress:

A cool washcloth that you rest on your eyelids for about 10 minutes can reduce eye puffiness. This can help drain excess fluid from under your eye. A compress of green or black tea bags may also do the trick. The tea contains antioxidants that can constrict blood vessels and reduce puffiness.

 

SOME HOME REMEDY WHICH WORKS INSTANTLY:

  

    1)      Hit the spoons:


The sharp cold of metal helps revive tired eyes and hike your energy to boot. Grab two clean metal teaspoons. Hold them for a few minutes under very cold running water. Lie down. For 30 to 60 seconds, put the bowls of the spoons over your eyelids; the spoons will fit perfectly against your eye sockets.

2)      Rub your eyes:

Run your fingers under very cold water or put them on some ice cubes. Start at the inner corners of your eyes and press down on the skin until you get to the outer eye corners. Repeat. This process helps drain fluid that's beneath your eyes.

       3)      Put on a potato: 

 Did you know that potatoes can help alleviate eye puffiness? Potatoes contain a skin-lightening     enzyme that can help relieve swelling. Grate two tablespoons of raw potato. Place it into two empty   tea bags (to keep things clean) and put one over each eye

4)      Try some tea:


Soak two caffeinated tea bags in warm water. Chill this mild diuretic for a few minutes in the fridge. Put one bag on each eye for five minutes to leave eyes feeling refreshed. The tea's caffeine helps constrict the eye's blood vessels, reducing your puffy eyes.

5)      Slice some cucumber:


Hit the produce aisle for brighter eyes and a refreshed feeling all over. Cut a few slices of cold cucumbers; they contain antioxidants that help reduce irritation. Lie down. For 30 minutes, place a slice over each eye. The coolness will help soothe puffiness.

        6)      Cut back on sugar:

When you eat sugar, you're triggering inflammation all over your body. Since the skin under the eye is prone to swelling and it's thin, you're seeing that inflammation there. Try to cut as much sugar as possible from your diet and you'll notice an immediate improvement.
